Today we went in for a First Trimester Screen at 12 weeks. The docs do some measurement on the fluid behind the neck and take blood and come up with a fancy formula to predict the chances of the baby having a chromosomal disorder. The fluid looked great (in the safe range) so for us I think the risk is minimal. The coolest thing about this visit is that s/he has grown so much since the last one. S/he was quite active and we got to see the brain, spine, heart, 2 arms, 2 legs and lots of cute movements. It definitely makes it more real! Enjoy the pics below which look much more like a baby!

That is soooo amazing!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting for both of you! Can't wait to meet him or her!!
ReplyDeleteS/he looks beautiful!!! Congratulations on all the upcoming days of wonder!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Wendy, David, and the “Bean” (who has turned into a sprout). David is smart, not a smart-ass. He is also quite correct. Gender is a grammatical concept, not a biological one. Sex is the word; it gets your attention. Or am I being a prig? :-). Anyway, we wish you the best. – Bob & Martha
ReplyDeleteHappy! Happy! Happy! Congratulations to you both. Can hardly wait. I know you both will be wonderful parents!
